FAQs
Do you only move pallets? No, most things we deliver are on pallets but we can deliver anything that can be safely transported by a pallet truck and forklift truck. We can move IBCs, crates and tanks as long as they designed to be handled by a forklift truck.
What can I put on a pallet? ANYTHING! It is amazing the range of items we see on pallets everything from car engines to rolls of turf even a complete bathroom suite with clever packing. Pallets are big enough and strong enough to even carry a ton of bricks or a ton bag of aggregate (1000kgs)!
Can we provide pallets? Yes, we can. Once you have entered all the necessary details an empty pallet can be requesting by ticking the required box. Refer to “palletise and wrap” for more details.
How do I package my goods to ensure they arrive safely? Packing an item correctly is vital to ensure its safety in transit between collection and delivery points. If the item is fragile it is advisable to wrap it in bubble wrap or cardboard to give it added protection. If the item that is being collected is of a mechanical nature it is vital that all oils and lubricants are drained before the goods are placed on the pallet. Refer to “packing requirements” for more details
What is the maximum weight and height of pallet? The maximum weight is 1000kg per pallet. The maximum height is 200cm.
How many pallets can I move? As many as you want, please contact us via our “larger loads” page for more details.
What access is needed for collections and deliveries? It is important to make sure that the lorry will fit down your road before you request a collection/delivery. The smallest lorry used is 7.5 tons. If a dustbin lorry can get to your house there will not be a problem.
How are you going to get the pallet on to the vehicle? All collection & delivery vehicles carry pallet trucks & the vehicles are fitted will tail lifts. The driver will move the pallet onto the tail lift of the vehicle using the pallet truck and ensure your pallet is safely placed in the vehicle.
What is a Tail Lift? This is basically a hydraulic platform that will lift a pallet on a pallet truck from ground level up to the back of the lorry. This is ideal for people who don't have access to a forklift. The Maximum weight the tail lift can carry is 1000kg.
What is a Pallet truck? A pallet truck or pump truck is a tool used to lift and move pallets, all our lorries carry one. Please be aware that when a pallet truck is carrying a pallet it will only work on smooth and fairly level ground such as concrete or tarmac a pallet truck will not work on a gravel drive!
What if I miss my collection or delivery? The price paid is for one collection/delivery attempt only. Lorries are not cheap to run so if the pallet is not available the charge will still apply.
What if I enter the wrong pallet size? It is important to make sure that the pallet service you require is the one you pay for. If you mistakenly order a small pallet when it is a large one additional costs and fees will apply. Your goods can be held while this is resolved.
Are the goods insured? Whilst the goods are on the pallet and in transit with emover.co.uk the delivery will be insured in accordance with our “terms & conditions” of carriage. The limit of liability is restricted to a maximum of £1300 per 1000kg.We do advise customers to have independent insurance if the goods are of high value.
